Gas valve

Gas line open and operational. If it is going across the gas line, the gas is shut off. Pictured is in the "on" position.

Breaker Box

Breaker box is where many of the safety control switches for the house. Many times something wont work in the home because a breaker has "tripped". Click it off and then back on. Often times this will handle it. NOTE: if this continues, please call us as this means the breaker is bad and needs to be replaced.

Pressure Release "Pop Off" Valve

This is a picture of a pop off valve on a water heater (front). The water valve, similar to an outside water spicket handle, controls the water coming into the water heater or not (rear right).

Garbage Disposal Reset Button

This is the bottom of a disposal in the kitchen sink. Pictured is the reset button (red) and the hex screw (middle) that you can manually turn when something is jammed in the system. This will sometimes get the unit to function. NEVER put your anything in the hole while the unit is on.

GFI Reset Button

This is a GFI. Shown are the "test" and "reset" buttons. Often times, this unit controls several plugs / outlets which are all on this same circuit. In addition, this unit will come with red and black buttons.

GFI Breaker

This is a GFI breaker located in the breaker box, instead of on the actual outlet (like photo above).

Gas Meter "On" Postion

The gas unit outside your home has an contol lever to allow gas in the house or shut it off. Shown is in the ON position. If it were in the East/West postion, it would be in the OFF position.

Shut off water at street

Shut off water at the street: you will have to lift the lid, and use a tool to turn the knob 90 degrees, and watch to make sure the red triangle (very small item on the water meter in the the same inground box, has completely stopped spinning.

Type in "Turn Off Your Water Meter"

Dryer Wont Dry My Clothes

Often times a dryer has the vent blocked which in turn will not allow your clothes to dry. So pull the dryer away from the wall just a small amount. Look behind and see if there is a kink in the line or has it come disconnected. Also check the amount of lint in the line. Any of these could be the problem with an easy fix.

Air Conditioner Filter Change

Very important to turn off the unit first before changing the filter. Make sure the filter size is correct before changing because a wrong size could ultimately make a unit inoperable. Video at YouTube.com and type in "change air conditioner filter".

Electric HVAC System

This is an electric HVAC system. You can tell this because there is no gas line coming into the unit.

Toilet Wont Stop Running

Open the top lid of the toilet, look to see if the flapper is closed, where sometimes it will stay up right or be off line be just a bit. This will in turn allow water to keep going down the drain. The other possibilty is that the floater "ball" is in need of adjustment.
